Well, I do declare! You have changed my girl overnight! The writing workshop with Stu Duval was genius! She's talked of nothing else but her time with Stu and of character plot, descriptions and writing short stories! Nothing -and I mean nothing- could put a bigger smile on my face! Thankyou!

Thanks for the excellent entertainment last Tuesday night. I had wonderful feedback from the families and all your books are out and on request. The poignancy of the story, plus those comedic moments really held us.

Just wanted to let you know that we loved having you at Huntley for our Book Week last week.. The place is always buzzing after your stories and your cartooning books issued straight away! I'm sure your enthusiasm inspires many to read - we definitely want you back again next year.

I just want to let you know that Ben (and Luke and 2 other kids I picked up from school yesterday) came home absolutely buzzing after Stu Duval was in. Usually Bens reply to "what did you do at school today?" Is "dunno, nothing, it was boring!!" However yesterday he practically relayed the entire story he’d heard! So thanks! Stu obviously made a big connection with the kids

I was priviledged to see you present to the children and staff at Victoria Avenue School in Remuera. It was by far the best professional development I have had as a teacher. Seeing you perform your story of the boys going to war was incredibly moving and such a highlight of my time teaching in Auckland. Since then I have read your book 'Achtung Pavlova' to my class of Year 5/6 and am glad to report it was a hit!

The boys and staff have been raving about your sessions this afternoon. Absolutely brilliant! Thank you so much.

Since the start of my career as a teacher in 2003 I have read Achtung Pavlova to my class every year in the first term. It is a wonderful book to read aloud as it lends itself to all the voices of the characters. My students love it too and often ask if it is a true story and whether they can take it home to their parents. Every day after lunch they come sit around my feet and wait for story time, engrossed in the story once I start. Thank you for this book that not only provides entertainment but unique teaching points too with all the metaphors, similes, descriptions, alliterations, etc. it provides us teachers with.

I am writing this to you to acknowledge your talent. You are such an inspiration to us kids at Papatoetoe South School, Room 21 especially. With your drawings and stories you are the perfect image of somebody with a big imagination. That is why I wrote to you. I aspire to write stories as good and intriguing as yours are. Stu, you have taught me as a student, so much.

First I must say again you are absolutely 'brilliant' at what you do! My daughter and my family met you in Napier - Bledisloe School where you performed during the day and also the PTA Family evening. I (mum) came up to you at the end (I just had to!!!) to tell you how much I loved your beautiful body movements and face expressions totally made up for my profound deafness where I find these things difficult to hear. But my daughter Angala stressed we should go - and I say I am sure glad we did! Angala was right I would understand you - you rocked! I had never smiled so much in a long time like that! Do never change what you do please!

I am a mum with three kids (in years 2,4 and 6) at Remuera Primary School. I just wanted to say a big thank you to you. Each of them has come home this week excited and inspired about your presentation and your books. They have sat down for the last two afternoons, pouring over your cartoon books, drawing and writing stories - this is especially great for our eldest who is dyslexic and takes a bit of motivating to read or write when he is not at school.
